Jakob’s “Up” Themed Party – 1st Birthday

Recently, Disney Pixar’s “Up” is becoming one of the favorite themes in children party circuit. After all, drawing inspiration from its most iconic image – Carl Fredrickson’s house high up in the air with hundreds of balloons tied to it, is enough to give us tons of fun and dazzling ideas on how to throw a sure-hit party that will leave the guests feeling they’re part of the adventure.

I’m glad that Jakob’s Up themed party shines brightly in its own right! Focusing on the other elements of this movie, it’s pretty cool how Moki Gray designs interpreted the theme while Gail of Foreveryday Photography captured the details beautifully.

Mommy Melanie’s thoughts while planning Jakob’s special day:
“Jakob is our first child and having said that, I’ve been very excited to plan his 1st birthday. I started planning as early as four months before his big day. We gathered our inspirations from Pinterest and decided to go for the UP theme because we really love the movie but we didn’t want to go for the character-themed type party so we emphasized on the cute little details from the UP movie such as the clouds and balloons.

I’m quite proud that everyone loved my DIY candy buffet. I just bought all the chocolates and asked Moki to provide a vintage inspired drawer and rented the candy jars from the caterer.

Since we’re based here in Singapore, I read through online parenting forums for party suppliers who have good feedbacks. Luckily, I got most of them and they are all indeed very good!”

As expected, balloons, balloons and more brightly colored balloons adorned Jakob’s party. These balloons gave an instant party-party vibes in Jakob’s birthday bash.

Their “Welcome” area was inspired by the travel aspect of the movie. Those cute instagram pillows were not only used as props but also served as party favors for their guests. Cute!

For the stage area, they opted to have something different from the usual children’s party backdrop. Nonetheless, it looks great and refreshing.

I like how they improvised their centerpieces. Simple yet you can still recognize the movie’s influence.

I’m sure all the guests were preoccupied with all the activities planned for them. There’s the arts activity area, face painting, games booths, balloon show by Jiggles – The Balloon Lady, games and food carts. Even Jakob enjoyed the show! Love the smile on the adorable celebrants face.

Oh, here’s Jakob’s photo gallery area. Hmm…and should I also say shoe collection gallery?

These colorful tumbler with goodies inside served as Jakob’s party favors while the paper bags were the prizes.

    • Hi Melanie,

How many people can fit into the clubhouse?
I’m also planning to celebrate my daughter’s 7th b-day here.

      Thanks and God Bless.

      – Trisch

      • Hi Trisch, info from Ms. Melanie:

“They say it can accommodate 150 but in my opinion 80-100 pax only. Actually, 100 is too much already since the main area is not that spacious. I would recommend it’s good for 50-80 pax. You should also book the videoke room as an extra space.”
