Dylan’s Scandinavian Woodland Themed Party – 1st Birthday

It’s always a pleasure to write about party inspirations since you’ll never know when an exceptional one pops up in the inbox. And for today, we have something so unique that will absolutely enchant you with its whimsical simplicity. For Dylan’s birthday bash, stylish mommy went for a Scandinavian woodland theme. Ah, Scandinavia – the land of IKEA and modern, but functional designs. Coupled with the adorable woodlands, the event is dreamy and muted, and tastefully executed by stylist Kaye Garcia Events. We can’t wait to share all the swoon-worthy deets captured by Mike Sy Photography!

Upon entry, guests were transported into the woods now known as Camp Dylan. Black and white letters amidst woodwork spell out their welcome.

The Scandinavian design focuses more on whites and muted colors, letting in more sunshine in homes. Of course, Kaye Garcia knows this as the already high ceiling is further brightened with white drapes and dreamy clouds.

Charming but simplistic, the stage is dominated by milky whites and cool blacks. Since this is also a woodlands theme, our favorite furry creatures shared the limelight with triangular foliage and mountains. We’re totally in love with the B&W teepee as the central piece, perfect for camping during a night out in the woods!

For a change, the minimalist approach is definitely refreshing and calming. We’re not shying away from the monochromatic theme, if it hints a relaxed affair, just like this one. Taking its cue from Scandinavian nurseries, teeny wooden snow-capped mountains are the only table accents. Certainly checking chic on this!

Churned from the magical kitchen of Cottontail Cake Studio, Dylan’s two-tiered cake was a showstopper in white and black details. Take a closer look and you’ll notice that the ensemble of furry forest critters is out camping in the woodlands! Cottontail Cake Studio is well known for beautifully crafting details on their confections, and this masterpiece is no exception!

Well-curated wall decors, set against a striped backdrop, made the dessert buffet cohesive with the birthday theme. No frills, mind you, but brilliant! Clean lines are the new norm in design!

Everyone should leave room for dessert, because the sweets spread is an assortment of sugar cookies, cupcakes, and cake pops. Frankly speaking, it’s hard to choose because each one is carefully crafted and done to perfection!

Aside from black and white, light-colored wood is another mark of Scandinavian design. Those wooden rocking horses and train set are delightful to any boy, a must in every nursery! How about that wood-stick tent that’s too adorable?

Of course, even if Dylan is too young to join, there are fun activities for the kid guests of the party. Look at the happy and triumphant faces!
