Party Doll Manila’s Guide to Lazy Sunday Party

“What to do? Where to go?” These are some of the questions I usually hear from my 2 girls every Sunday. Well, to be honest, multiply that by 20 with 15 minutes interval each. Lol. Last Sunday, I decided to make it a little special for them by throwing an impromptu DIY “Lazy Sunday” party. Using Melawares’ Disney baking set from their kid’s line; I must say that making fun and yummy kids-approved treats is made easy! If you know me, I’m no domestic goddess. I mean, cooking and baking are really not my strengths so I was quite impressed that the Melawares’ baking set provided us delightful snacks for the party. PS: Pardon my sucky photos. Today I learned that photography is also not my biggest strength. Teehee!

“Baking is a good bonding activity. Kids will have as much fun making cookies and cakes with their parents, and in eating their fun-shaped baked delicacies,” said CDC Manufacturing Corporation’s Marketing Manager, Chriselda Chua.

Since I’m also super lazy during Sundays, I decided to go with treats that are easy to make and that would require no baking at all. The menu: Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Fruit Jello and Fruit Juice, all in Mickey Mouse-inspired shapes.

For the Mickey Mouse grilled cheese sandwich, just grab your favorite loaf bread, cheese, Melawares’ metal cookie cutter and you’re good to go.

I love our Mickey Mouse fruit jello! It’s the perfect combination of yummyness and cuteness. It doesn’t hurt that it can also be done in less than 15 minutes! Yey! A pack of gelatin mix, a can of fruit cocktail and Melawares’ silicon mold, that’s it. Tip: Use the fruit cocktail’s juice as a substitute to water when making the gelatin mixture.

For the drinks, I gave it a little twist and served the juice with a cute Mickey Mouse fruit ice. Using concentrated fruit juice, orange and grapes, it instantly made our drink extra fun and cool. Yes, pun intended.
