The Book of Life Party Ideas
We can’t help but fall in love with Matteo’s The Book of Life-inspired fete! Admittedly, it’s connection with the La Muerte and Día de Muertos makes it an unlikely theme for a birthday party but the story behind the film and it’s out-of-the-box approach to the graphics gave it a unique and delightful twist. From the bright color palette to the charming elements used, every corner of Mateo’s party is oozing with festive vibe that will make you feel like singing and dancing. We’re also stoked to see tons of details that remind us of this animated movie! Kudos to Ohana Creatives by Tipping Point Collective for the awesome styling and for crafting all the bits and pieces of Matteo’s birthday bash. Let’s go and take a closer look at this wonderful and memorable affair from the lens of Nicolai Melicor Photography.
One will definitely recognize Matteo’s party theme right off the bat after seeing this invite. The decorated skull with sombrero, maracas and guitar were all on point. This “The Book of Life”-inspired invitation is designed by Scribblers United.
Multi-colored paper flowers and balloon arrangements were decked on stage as a backdrop. We love how the fun, brightly colored elements really popped-out from the black base color! And what made this stage setup more eye-catching and kiddie-looking are the colorful letter blocks that spelled Matteo’s name.
For the table setup, blue linens are spread on every table accentuated with colorful paper runners. And to keep the flow of the party theme, colorful flowers are arranged in different glass jars to beautify the center. Characters from the movie also made an appearance atop the flower arrangements.
A cute way to replace the traditional guest book is to prepare these fill-in-the-blanks questionnaires, for Matteo to read when he’s old enough.
This two-tier cake, created by Cottontail Cake Studio, looks super adorbs. Characters from this colorful animation are present, even the little piggy, Chuy. Elements of the movie also accentuated the cake - skulls, papel picado, candles and cactus.
Ronald Villadar is definitely a hit when it comes to entertainment. He fits well as the party host being the performer that he is.
Kackie's Piñata and Party Accessories nailed it when they created this Chuy pinata. Little piggy Chuy looks so cute in this sombrero.
These yummy food carts fill hungry bellies before meal time.
To match every setup with the theme, they even have this fruit table representing their Ofrendas.
Bento meal boxes are becoming a trend not just in school meals but in parties as well. Bento Mommas did an awesome job prepping these The Book of Life-inspired bento boxes for Matteo’s little guests.
Kiddie parties aren’t complete without a play area. Ada's Wonderland Party Needs arranged this nook to keep the little ones busy while mommies and daddies are doing their catch-ups.
Kids just love being painted on with their favorite designs. Our creative friends from Jay-G Cube Face Painting Service Plus Party Needs are hands-on and made sure their little clients are satisfied.
