Marius’ Monster University Themed Party – 1st Birthday

Booo! Say hi to the not-so-scary crew of Monster University as they make their way to Marius’ spooktacularly adorable 1st birthday bash. Taking inspiration from Mike and Sully, expect to see these two making rounds all over the venue. From the colors, decors and even all the prizes, it’s such a delight to see how they manage to coordinate each and every party detail to the theme. Making sure no stone is left unturned, I would say they deserve an A+ for making Marius’ party so much more fantastic. Ooohh, hats off to Mommy Maricris for styling Marius’ party herself and together with Daddy Floyd, they diy-ed most of the wonderful details of the party.

Here’s Mommy Maricris sharing some fun bits and pieces of Marius’ 1st birthday party:

“I started planning my son’s birthday when I was 7 months pregnant. I’m not sure why but I like Monsters University so much that time thus we decided to make it our son’s party theme.

My husband and I started buying MU stuff way before the party at toy kingdom & toys ‘r us and lucky for us, most of them were on sale. We even scored some cute toys that were used as props on my baby’s pre-birthday pictorial and during his actual birthday party. Some of the items like plates, candies, balloons, shoes, cap and stickers were bought directly from America. Since we didn’t get the help of an event stylist, I’m the one who setup and handmade all the details like centerpieces, invitations, favors, placemats and candy buffet while my husband did all the graphic layouts. I also customized all the frames and bought fabric for the table runners. Instead of the usual magic show we opted for balloon twisting, games and raffle for our guests.”

Rolling up her sleeves, Maricris did an amazing job setting up Marius’ monsteriffic sweet treats spread. Everything looks great – color coordinated with matching themed labels to boot.

I love the big “M” that served as the favors shelf. What an interesting way to add an extra wow factor.

  1. Hi! I would like to know if you have a video tutorial of your centerpieces or how did you make them. They are so cute!
