Who wouldn’t want to spend a carefree afternoon in the garden having a picnic, or better yet, a tea party? The feel of summer, the sunshine, all those pretty little flowers blooming and the relaxed feeling of the outside all channeled in this garden tea party theme. Our friends from Sugar and Sunbeams definitely makes you want to kick off your shoes and run around to enjoy that happy-go-lucky sweetness of childhood! Hold on to your teacups and sconces and gather around the teapot to have your fill of wonder and whimsy. Lai De Guzman Photography captured all these fancy details from Baby Elize’s 1st birthday celebration.
Up front, huge paper flowers and a trellis of hanging wisterias gave a patio-like feel. A dainty white picket fence and bench complete with a vintage bike and a basket full of plumerias are perfect additions to the garden, further inspiring that laid back feel. Elize’s bright fairy-lit marquee finishes off the look.
Each table features a wonderful collection of tea party knickknacks and whatchamacallits. Floral teapots, delicate teacups, and pretty saucers adorn the tables and make them fit for the fine elegance of a tea social.
And did I tell you about the cake yet? It’s ruffled and flowery, sweet and decadent in itself! The details are to die for and Elize’s name is even decorated using sugar petals and sweet confections!
More yummyness parade the dessert spread– Crème Brulee in egg cups, colorful Macaron de Paris, petit samba cakes, chocolate ganache tartlets and truffles. Intricate lace parasols and bouquets of plumeria dot the quaint trellis ensemble.
Another spot festooned in flowers and tiny umbrellas that mirror the décor of the dessert spread makes a perfect back-drop for guest photos!
Kids and adults alike can also enjoy spun sugary goodness ranging from salted caramel to chocomint and even strawberry basil from the Fluffed Cotton Candy cart.
Hyped up with all that sugar? Head on to the custom craft station and decorate your own teacup! Paint your saucers and cups, and embellish them with more cut-outs of paper flowers and stars.
A princess ballerina wows the crowd with a ballet show. Games like “Stick the lid on the teapot” makes the party more fun and frivolous!
Tea party guests were sent home with lilac buckets of more sweet treats – can’t have enough sweetness today!
And all that sweetness resonates from this sweet family. Look at Elize as she says “Thank you” to all those who made her birthday bash a high tea time for happiness!
