Donald and David’s Mario Kart 8 Themed Party – 5th Birthday and Baptismal

Rev up your engines and let’s race our way to Donald and David’s Mario Kart 8 bash! A theme that is downright thrilling and exciting, mommy Cristina made sure that this party is epic through and through. With fun activities, tons of food carts, cute desserts and cool decorations to boot, every single detail about this party is guaranteed to give their guests nothing but 100% pure fun. What I love about this party is that right from the entrance to the four corners of the venue, there is something for all the guests to enjoy. Fun activities, check! Yummy food carts, check! Exciting games and show, check and check! Top of the line buffet menu, check! Adorable souvenirs, check! Super cute desserts, check! Everything was in place. Now, are you ready to join the fun?

You see, I was commissioned to coordinate this party right from the very beginning so let me tell you that this party is really close to my heart. From the awesome theme to mommy Cristina’s choice of suppliers, this party is bound to be successful right from the start and I’m so glad to be part of it all. The thing is, from all our late night chats and meetings, one thing is clear, our goal is to make sure everyone is having a blast. Did we achieve our goal? Hell yeah! Of course! You bet we did! Most def! I believe that to see is to believe, without further ado…

At the entrance, the super brothers – Mario and Luigi – are there to welcome the guests.

Once the guests were inside, these yellow & black painted tires complete with colorful flags created a super cool path to guide them to the party. I love how it instantly creates an exciting race car ambiance to the party.

Red, blue and green swags and balloon clusters were used as part of their ceiling treatment. At the center, did you notice our super cute cameraman? See our 3D Lakitu in action taking aerial shots in style. Such a cutie patootie! Kathleen of Spark + Twinkle, I love you!

For the stage backdrop, different Mario Kart 8 characters graced Donald and David’s party. If you haven’t noticed, Kathleen made sure that Mario and Luigi stood out from the rest by making these duo in 3D.

Stretching the red, blue and green color motif, more fun details were seen at the table setup. Again, 3D Mario Kart 8 styro characters were used as centerpieces. I love, love, love those piranha plants! Super adorable.

And my heart nearly exploded from the cuteness of their cake. This massive cake ensemble was made by Veronica of Les Sucreries. To make it even more impressive, the Mario and Luigi cake are rotating. From the colors to the designs, I like how she perfectly captured all the fun elements of this theme.

Because it’s not a PDM-approved party without utterly divine sweet treats, let’s head on to the dessert tablescape aka “Sugar Refilling Station”. With loads of desserts ranging from Les Sucreries’ Mario and Luigi sugar cookies, Mario Kart 8-themed cuppies and cakepops, guests were really spoiled to the max with the addition of those heavenly choco carrot cake and bars. Did you see Toad at the back stacking the tires?

Now, for the fun part…

Guests were treated with more than the usual number of food carts for a party. There were 6 in all! Caerus Coffee Bar, Fruitzilla fruit shakes, Waffle Time, Big Scoop ice cream, Mang Alex fishballs and Potato Corner. Guests were all around the venue hoping from one food cart to the next.

Tjioe the Caterer provided these oh-so-yummy food. To be honest, the food was super delish! I was there and since it was my cheat day, let’s just say I was beyond happy.

The biggest highlight of the party was the Go Kart area where both the kids and kids at heart raced around the inflatable track. All my 3 kiddos enjoyed riding the carts thus making it really hard for us (with matching waterworks) to call them when the show was about to start and during chow time.

While some kids were racing in the go kart area, the others were busy glamming up in the kiddie salon station.

During the registration, kids were given their own “Crew Pass” that were used as name tags and souvenir stubs. We handed out these snacks-filled insulated lunchbags supplied by Confetti Shop together with the on-the-spot bag tags as party favors to the kids.

Spark + Twinkle made this matching winner stand photo-op setup that came complete with medals and 3D styro mushroom trophy. Guests got to bring home several magnetic photo printouts as souvenirs. Oh, and its unlimited printing so they got to pose and pose all throughout the party. See my cameo appearance here. Teehee!

Host Erney Arcilla made sure that the energy level was high at the party. Kids happily participated in the games and they got to bring home lots of cool prizes. The Tectonix also wow-ed the guests with their dancing balloon show. We even got to bring home their Pluto balloon!
