Market Theme Party
It’s Anika’s 1st birthday and her mommy and daddy threw her an awesome birthday party that’s bustling with excitement! Events by Popping Parties pulled out all the stops to create the ultimate rustic chic celebration. Thanks to Silver Linings Photography who captured all the special moments from this all-important day, Anika and her parents can look back and experience the first of many family celebrations.
Friends and family received the cutest invitation featuring an adorable Anika with a basket of pretty flowers and a medley of the freshest fruits and vegetables in a one-of-a-kind Sunday Market birthday feast.
Like a salad of garden-fresh vegetables, the ceiling is an eye-catching splash of colors with rows of green and orange paper ball lanterns alternating with strings of bright yellow and dark green tassel garlands.
A rustic stage backdrop is cleverly created using some wooden pallet. On one side of the stage is a delightful little girl dressed in a pretty summer dress. Beside her is a vintage bike with straw baskets filled with the loveliest blooms of the season. On the other side are baskets of flowers and watermelons arranged on log trunk stands. At the center, vegetables and fruits are put on display in wicker baskets set on wooden barrels.
The tables are all “dressed up” with crisp white cloth, a striped woven table runner and some bright yellow table napkins for a pop of color. Each table is adorned with a charming table centerpiece consisting of a wooden crate filled with fruits, a candle lantern and a vase of orange mums. To complete the shabby chic vibe, a wine bottle covered in twine, and a couple of uneven pieces of bamboo are arranged on a log piece with the table numbers written on a small chalkboard. This one will surely make a great design idea on Pinterest.
Anika’s wonderful 3-layer cake is a sweet treat to behold and to feast on. Each layer is covered in white fondant and adorned with fondant versions of every farm-fresh produce you’d find in the Sunday market – every piece obviously meticulously made. Around the first cake layer are trays of eggs, fondant pumpkins, crates of Chinese cabbage, gourd, tomatoes and radish along with baskets of cauliflower, carrots and cabbage. There are potatoes, papayas and tiny Lady Finger chili peppers too. On the second and third layers are woven baskets with tiny fondant fruits like watermelons, bananas, oranges, mangoes and apples. These are the fruits and vegetables that a sweet tooth would love to sink his teeth into.
There’s never a dull moment with party host extraordinaire, Alex Lagula who got the parents to do the Baby Shark dance much to the delight of the children. The big smiles on the children’s faces say it all – Anika’s party is spectacular!
True to the theme of this birthday shindig, Anika’s special guests received healthy, organic giveaways: hazelnut coffee, grapes and oranges that were nicely packaged in rectangular baskets covered in checkered picnic cloth. Another one of many “Pinterest-ing” things in this party.
A picture of a perfectly happy family, Anika and her parents savor this extraordinary day that they will remember with fondness.
