The circus has always been a much loved entertainment enjoyed by children and adults alike. And Mickey Mouse – I know almost everyone would agree – is probably the most famous and dearest Disney character. So the idea of circus and Disney magic put together in one event is sure to make anyone giddy with excitement – even the most jaded fans!
When Isaiah turned one, his mom and dad threw him a spectacular bash worthy of the big top! And by bringing in Mickey and his friends, the birthday extravaganza was made more enchanting for the little towners. The lovely parents teamed up with one of the best in the biz, NY Giftworks. The team cleverly splurged on classic circus and Mickey details – creating a bash filled with vintage glee. The scene was one colorful chaos with red, yellow, black, and white color scheme which seem a natural choice to match Mickey and achieve that circus feel. I especially love how the bright hues were tempered with a neutral color like tan. Oh boy, that sure is swell – and I can hardly wait to share with you more ideas from this bash! So step right up because Isaiah’s circus has rolled into town! Keep reading to see all the ideas that will seriously make your jaws drop.
Isaiah’s birthday invite shouted fun and entertainment that got his guests thrilled for his big day! The graphic invite – featuring a big top that opened up and revealed Mickey and the gang – was just the beginning of the circus fun!
The entryway made me marvel at my own childhood memories. With circus-themed colors, Mickey as the ringmaster, and elements such as big top arch, fabulous signage, and circus posters, it was just like going to a real circus! The inside was a magical world with circus charms that definitely added a spark from the moment guests stepped into the room.
Aw, gee! The stage was a sight that filled me with awe! The décor elements worked well together and gave the party space a festive vibe. The stage backdrop was a large LCD screen with a frame simulating a circus tent archway. The other attractions were Mickey and Minnie standees, animal cutouts, and circus props like unicycle, drum, and podium. The honoree’s name was also put up in lights! What would a circus party be without marquee lights, anyway?
The space above the guests were filled with Mickey cuteness! Mickey printable buntings were hung throughout the ceiling and Mickey die cuts were also strung up in random intervals.
Isaiah’s treasured family photographs deserved the attention they garnered in this creative display. It felt so dramatic how the repurposed wall amped the impact of the black-and-white photos. Very homey!
The fun table setup drew all eyes to the unique centerpieces such as popcorn and cotton candy trolleys. The latter was versatile and doubled as a food add-on! The Mickey toy, Ferris wheel, circus wagon, and circus podium were also great for a circus theme. The cube photo frame simply added a touch of magic.
Nibbles and art supplies were set out on the kiddie tables to keep them happy and occupied.
Now here’s a flight of fancy – a cake tribute to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Given by Daddy Bernard’s Aunt to the birthday boy, the three-tier cake was pretty in aqua and peach colors. With a dreamy hot air balloon atop the cake and real Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto toys to play with, it was a sure hit with Mickey fans.
Eyes and bellies of guests were dazzled with the desserts! The sweet station was definitely the ringmaster with such captivating and cheery touch. I am swooning over the extravagant illumination, neutral backdrop, festive table that resembled a circus podium, and the way the desserts popped against the display. All the colors of Mickey and the fun of the circus were transformed into tasty feasts which included brownies, cupcakes, chocolate bars, rice crisps, truffles, macarons, and popcorns. The Oreo cookies that were styled up to resemble Mickey was so adorable! I also love how the Mickey half-body vessel and styrofoam podiums were used to give the snacks on sticks some height.
Guests got their cameras clicking at the photo op area. The tone of the backdrop with Minnie and Mickey reminded me of the early black and white films. Along with the boldly hued red signage and fun props, it helped create a host of remarkable photos!
Games, tricks, and acrobats showed the partygoers a true circus atmosphere.
Mickey goodies were given to the winning participants.
After the fun day under the big top, Isaiah expressed his gratitude by giving away these Mickey mini stools for boy mouseketeers and Minnie mini stools for girl mouseketeers.
This is the little guy who melts my heart – Isaiah!
A nice round of applause to Daddy Bernard and Mommy Jerika for throwing such a wonderful bash!
