Got a little one with an adventurous spirit and curiosity for the world? Why not incorporate a travel theme into his or her birthday bash? With some vintage books and a luggage or two here and there, you can have a celebration that takes on his or her sense of adventure. Take the kids on a trip around the world with Zuri’s first birthday bash inspired by far-away destinations!
The celebration was held at Oasis Manila. The place has a commanding view of the gardens and provides a chic and cozy setting for any grand celebration. The travel-themed bash was pure bliss as Event Planner and Stylist Cary Noreen Co-Choa adorned the place with a muted color palette and vintage details. I love how all her ideas worked perfectly for a girl with the femininity of Chicago. I’m beyond in love with how the sweet garden items intermingled with the vintage travel pieces in this beautiful stage setup. It was decorated with ZURI 3-D letters, white fences and a bench, framed photos, books, little suitcases, and gorgeous floral arrangements. The miniature Ferris wheel offered more tiny floral pieces. Artificial turf grounded the entire stage and pastel pom-poms were a perfect addition. My favorite scene setter was the city skyline backdrop which made a great photo op!
Zuri’s photo gallery was sure to be the center of attention. It came off as bright and cheerful, with a measure of whimsy and adventure. The area was adorned with lush blooms, lanterns, suitcases, and ZURI 3-D letters covered with vintage prints. Her one-year milestone was featured up the wooden wall with some of her personal stuff.
The ceiling installation revealed a stunning beige drape, crystal jewels, and pink paper lanterns. It really added a sophisticated spin on the setting.
Pink linens with linear white detailing are used to adorn the tables. A round mirror – topped with blooms, hardbound books, vintage lantern, and a framed photo – became a pool of reflective light that casted a glow onto the tables. It was finished off with pink, lavender, and white balloons fastened with tulle butterflies.
The four-tier cake was made by Sweet Creations. One layer was dressed up with fondant grass and blooms while fondant city skyline flanked the next layer. On top were fondant flowers in shades of orange and yellow that brought a fun touch to the cake.
I wonder how the little guests reacted when they arrived at the party and discovered the table full of sweets! Cookies, Pretzels, Wafer Sticks, Gummy Candies, Cupcakes, and Macarons got the pink treatment that even echoed on the table covering – lovely, don’t you think? The vintage-looking containers and accessories also added a charming effect without overwhelming the room. There’s much to love at this sweet station, but the photo display backed by the dessert table was a darling! The wooden shutter with clippings – photos and plush letters – worked well in this area.
