Emilio’s Storybook-Themed Party – 1st Birthday

Reading a storybook together before bedtime has long been known as a cherished family pastime and if your tot has a favorite story that he constantly requests, you may want to take his love of literature and turn it into an affair to remember.

Emilio is one, and it’s time to celebrate! Inspired by his love of books, his mom went all out for his first birthday with a charming storybook-themed bash! I personally love this theme because I also enjoy getting stuck reading a good book. I read to escape and this bash transported me to a world of imagination. Emilio’s creative team – Party Please and Aina Cruz – brought some of the timeless tales to life. With blue and orange color schemes, book-character decorations, clever story-related desserts, and story-time station, the little ones were kept immersed in each story! Now that’s what we call a pretty happy ending! Read on to see the captivating photos – photographed by Foreveryday Photography – and follow along for one page-turning bash!

At the entrance, guests were welcomed by Dr. Seuss’ most famous anthropomorphic cat from “The Cat in the Hat” book! There was also this cute sign to remind guests not to miss out the chance to share their birthday wishes and special memories for Emilio. It will make a perfect keepsake for years to come, I bet!

The stage was magical – I can spot all my beloved storybooks! It was full of beautiful ideas straight from the pages of the books! Its clear backdrop was decorated with wall art quotes from the literary characters we admired as a child. The stage was complete with actual books that appeal to the little ones. My favorite bit of inspiration is the EMILIO 3-D letters wrapped with pages from Emilio’s favorite stories! I also love the comfortable nest provided by the bench and teepee arrangement for the story time! Ah, I love the whimsy this bash brings!

Are you pumped yet? Well, here’s another doozy: Every table was cleverly decked out with a storybook and a favor to complement the book. Wow! It was like the characters from our favorite books leaped off the pages and came to life at Emilio’s bash! There was a Dr. Seuss table, a Clifford table, a Corduroy table, a Paddington Bear table, just to name a few. Totally amazing! I also love the natural look of the tablescape! The flower and gold detailing of the linens especially gave a nice touch!

Emilio had an adorable stack-of-books cake! Betsy’s Oven really hit the nail on the head when they put the fondant “Goodnight Moon” and “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” books on the cake plus a book that had Emilio’s name on it! The cake was as yummy as it was beautiful!

Next up is the candy buffet! At the backdrop, a book garland was suspended to extend the storybook theme. The bright balloons and bunting dazzled the space with the magic that happens in books! Each item on the sweets bar was keenly made to reinforce the theme. I love how each sweet offering was accompanied by a copy of the book and matching display items! Emilio’s bash featured brilliant nibbles like chocolates, adorably decorated mice cookies, mini cupcakes, and macarons. On this table also sat the most adorable chocolate Nips ever imagined – not to mention everything on it was edible! These candy-coated droplets of heaven had Emilio’s face printed on it, and the result created a huge wow factor! Now, that’s dedication!

To keep kids busy for a few hours, they were asked to make up their own story, write the details, glue pictures on colorful pages, and staple the pages together. The activities were even more fun as each pint-sized guest came over dressed as their favorite storybook character.

Aside from storybook writing, the little ones also enjoyed guessing what will happen next in their storytelling activity.
