Dawn’s Chic Nautical Themed Party – 1st Birthday

Sunbeam, breeze, and waves gently lapping a sandy shore – don’t they sound like a wonderful invitation? I know that summer is over but it’s never too late to raise the sails for a nautical-themed bash! No matter what the season though, this theme is a perennial favorite since it perfectly works for any event and age group.

For Dawn’s first birthday, her mom decided to throw her a chic nautical-themed bash. Who said nautical theme is perfect only for boys? With Ava’s Cakes and Events team as the mastermind behind the planning, this landlocked bash was adorably decorated with navy, pink, and a pinch of red plus a boatload of stripes. I have never seen a nautical theme that included some splash of pink, but with a variation of colors, Dawn’s bash had its own personality. If you’re now ready to weigh down your anchor and party with the little sailors, scroll down for all the girly party perfection photographed by Marianne Pasion. Ships ahoy!

Welcome aboard, mates! The entrance space was adorned with seashells, starfish, and miniature lighthouses. Hung on the brick post was a homemade sign that read, “Make a Wish upon a Starfish.” Everything about this space just yelled, “Beach time”! Also displayed here were fun ways to serve food and drinks! The Ferris wheel cupcake stand and the inflatable beverage cooler were just some of this bash’s clever details!

Ah, the stage makes me want to head out to the summer sun! The classic navy, red, and white palette and the lovely shade of pink on the decorating ideas were just perfect for a Sailor Girl. Beach-y accessories, lifesaver ring, sailor knot, and buoys were pieced together to create an aquatic atmosphere. I love the clean lines of the backdrop! Together with the DAWN 3-D letters, it played off the sweet cake on the table. The fish net with some seashell clings also gave the bash an air of the high seas. This charming area was perfect for a photo op!

A simple linear runner spruced up the table, adorned with blooms and rustic centerpieces. Nice glass containers with seashells inside made a relaxing statement.

I adore the cake! It was simple and super cute! It was designed with a fondant lifesaver ring and topped with a sailboat and a sailor. The lifesaver ring made room to write Dawn’s name around. I also love its clean lines! There’s just something so classically nautical about pairing navy and white together, especially stripes!

The sweets bar was another highlight. Aback of the table was an aqua wooden fence adorned with a red anchor. The pink tablecloth and black chevron runner added a pop of color to the chic summer tablescape. For the treats, there were color-coordinating candies, popcorn, cake pops, and wafer sticks. There were also cupcakes that were sailor-ed up with lifesaver ring toppers! Awesome! Now, I’m not sure what is sweeter? Is it the gorgeous table or the yummy confections?
