Amiel’s Shabby Chic Meets Summer Party – 1st Birthday

Sunshine plus an eclectic style that mixes upcycled pieces with pastel colors and feminine florals – what more could you want for a very girly celebration? These two S themes – summer and shabby chic – when incorporated singly, can make a truly memorable celebration! So why not get creative and blend them into one lovely party? They are double the duty, but definitely double the pleasure! Wink!

Mommy Aple Jane wished for some sun this year so Amiel can have a celebration that expresses memories from old summer days – and voilà! With the help of the genius MAGO Events, they came up with a perfect combination of sunshine holidays and the chance to soak up some retro or vintage style decoration. They based the sunroom around a white color scheme and added in pastel touches for the ultimate shabby chic style. The greenery of the summer landscape was also reflected – so walking in every corner of the room was like walking in a garden sanctuary. Oh wow! Nothing says summer and shabby chic more than this bash! Check out all the details captured by Harry Lim Photography that will transport you back to a time when summer elegance was a way of life.

With false greenery, girly retro bicycle, and picket fence backdrop, the entrance had an atmosphere of vintage picnic! The pretty bicycle had a couple of white balloons tied to the seat rail and a front basket filled with blooms. Amiel’s milestone board on an easel was also an ideal feature for the vintage theme. And to make the scene complete, there were letter standees decorated with floral prints.

Here is a closer look at the other details! You can see a huge range of shabby chic style furniture which helped bring different heights and visual appeal to the small accents. The blooms and wooden spoon were beautifully cascading down the white-painted ladder, and the upcycled dresser made an interesting talking piece at the bash and held some charms including glass containers, gilded empty frames, floral fabrics, and baby booties clipped across a DIY frame – cutesy! Also look at those pretty scribbles on the glass containers! I cannot help but love!

The stage was situated in front of a huge glass window. This allowed the sunshine to get through – permeating the scene with light and warmth! Since the room already gained from the sun, the creative team just focused on decorating perfect accent pieces. The stage had white-painted timber slats as backdrop – adorned with a sheer curtain for a breezy ambiance and a pretty vintage letter. There were painted wooden crates too! One was turned into a classic lemonade stand and some held the favors and cake. The stage also highlighted some fun picnic features – wicker basket, lacy umbrella, and floral camping chair. Yay! They all have me thinking about my next summer holiday!

The tables had a clean look of elegance in white drapes and pink crochet runner. The centerpieces were kept simple with miniature house, floral camping chair, and table numbers with an emphatic flourish.

This summer glowing cake evoked a carefree and beachy vibe! The crushed crackers – resembling sand grains – were artfully scattered at the base and dotted with fondant seaside accessories. Each layer was covered with fondant and then decorated with buntings and tropical cottages. The finishing touch was a number and a pair of beach sandals half-buried in the sand that served as the cake topper.

The floral sheer curtain backdrop and sugary pastel palette were just a few of the feminine touches that gave the dessert table a calming and sweet mood. The gleaming backdrop name was again outstanding! Unable to decide whether to pick a summery cake or a shabby chic one, the stylish mommy opted to serve both! The dessert table boasted the gorgeous pink and purple diamond quilted cake along with cake pops, Rice Krispies dipper treats, cupcakes, sugar cookies, and a tower of meringue.

This refreshing lemonade station was so cool and inviting! I love how the glass milk bottles were used to serve the drinks – very classic and homey! They were also paired with striped paper straws – each with a little pretty floral flag!

Clowny Bamba ran the entire party fun and entertained the kids with her puppet show. Also, kudos to IVAN the Illusionist for keeping them completely enthralled with his magic tricks and reptile show. What a truly exciting experience to have a hands-on interaction with that oddly gorgeous creature!
